Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?
Trips out places in Japan like the shrines, and the Japanese inn. Learning about the Japanese experiences and famous places.
Why did you select this program?
It sounded interesting when I heard about it, and I have always wanted to go to Japan. I wanted to experience studying Japanese in Japan because I felt it was different than studying Japanese in Ameriaca.
What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?
English Support has helped me a lot. I have really enjoyed the trips out to Akiharbara, and would like to do events to learn about the Japanese culture. The fast paste of tests is a bit stressful at times.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
When we have groups or do role plays of certain things, like planning a trup. The pair work is good.
What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?
I think going out to the places and experiencing the Japanese culture made it more real.
Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?
I think that managing time can be hard, but you have English speaking teachers, Korean and Chinese that can retranslate something when you have troubles. It seemed like a lot of people were really good but then I saw people that got low scores too, and so talking about it, and talking to teacher for help is what I suggest. Don't be discouraged. It is a bit fast moving, but there are chances to take test over, and advise you choose your time to study well. Everyone at KCP is very welcoming! :).
