Kaiwa practice was useful.

Vinh from 2014

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The best event so far is the Museum trip. Tanaka-San was very informational and detailed about each display. Without him, I would've had no idea what to do or what I was looking at.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Pair Work was helpful. Kaiwa practice was useful. English Support was useful.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

Mastering Katakana and Hiragana before you come to the program will be very useful. You are only given 2-4 days to learn them all and master them which is not enough time for 92 different characters. English support is good if you are struggling. Always try to volunteer for Kaiwa during class. Even though its embarrassing, you will remember words and sentence structure better. If you stay quiet in class all the time, you will probably struggle. Senseis are very nice so go to them for help if you need it. Kato Sensei is also a good choice if you want to ask questions in english. USE the grammar book they provide you. Its very helpful because it clarifies questions you might have and its simple to read.

Testimonials

The most important reason why I selected the program was for its affordability. As a graduate, I am paying for the program through my own personal funds without the help of any university financial aid or scholarships. Affordability and value of the program were essential in my decision, and KCP has exceeded my expectations.
